Q-FORCE: a localization example for Brazilian dubbing

Abstract

Netflix is a streaming platform that has become one of the most popular options for watching movies and series around the world. One of the series found in its catalog is Q-Force, an animated production aimed at adult audiences that follows the adventures of a group of LGBTQ super-spies who fight against discrimination in their intelligence agency. The series sets out to address issues of diversity and inclusion through its diverse and representative cast, as well as its plot that deals with prejudice and inequality. In this article, we will focus on the localization of the translation made for the Brazilian market, comparing some excerpts of the original dialogue with the adaptations made.
