Abstract

This article presents a didactic sequence designed to teach a cultural aspect of the English language in a 5th-grade primary classroom, focusing on the implementation of cultural objects as didactic material and the use of language itself with specific communicative objectives. The integration of intercultural dimensions into language teaching is crucial for enhancing students' sociocultural competence. The article begins by defining the concept of sociocultural competence and its relationship with teaching culture in language classrooms from an intercultural perspective. It then provides a detailed description of the different stages of the didactic sequence, emphasizing the importance of cultural sensitivity and awareness in language education. The conclusion highlights the significance of addressing cultural diversity in language teaching to improve students' communication skills in the target language.
